Siemens Healthineers and Cleveland Clinic Forge 10-Year Alliance to Boost Imaging and Clinical Innovation
Siemens Healthineers and Cleveland Clinic have announced a significant 10-year strategic partnership aimed at enhancing patient care through clinical and workflow innovation across Cleveland Clinic's network. This alliance will focus on advancing diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and radiation oncology, offering clinical teams new tools and training opportunities while providing patients with more personalized care experiences.
The strategic collaboration will see Siemens Healthineers supply Cleveland Clinic with advanced imaging and therapeutic technologies, including MRI, CT, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, and X-ray systems. The alliance also involves expanding Siemens Healthineers’ support team at Cleveland Clinic, with over 30 employees dedicated to providing on-site assistance, including technicians and training specialists. These professionals will support the development of a theranostics cancer-treatment program at Cleveland Clinic, an innovative approach combining targeted imaging and therapy for more personalized cancer care.
Dr. Peter Liu, Chair of Enterprise Imaging at Cleveland Clinic, emphasized the benefits of the partnership: "This strategic alliance with Siemens Healthineers will help us bring more consistent, connected, and advanced imaging and treatment services to our patients. By aligning technology, service, and clinical support more closely across our global health system, we can improve access, increase efficiency, and create a better experience for patients."
In addition to technology advancement, the partnership will also focus on education and workforce development. Cleveland Clinic is set to become a Center of Excellence for MRI technologist education, receiving expertise in clinical education, protocol optimization, technologist skill development, and radiation-safety training. The alliance aims to support physicians in expanding CT use for cardiology, radiation therapy, and image-guided procedures.

Future initiatives under the alliance may include biomedical engineering training and clinical education geared toward workforce development, with a focus on integrating intelligent software and automation into imaging workflows. The partnership is also anticipated to contribute to local economic development, supporting Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus investment and promoting job growth within the Cleveland Innovation District.
