Onsite Women’s Health Launches “Mammo with heart” to Identify Cardiovascular Risk During Mammograms
Onsite Women’s Health, the nation’s largest provider of in-office breast health and imaging services, has announced the launch of Mammo with heart, an AI-enabled clinical program designed to enhance preventive care for women by detecting breast arterial calcifications (BAC) during routine screening mammograms. BAC is a marker associated with cardiovascular disease.
The program is powered by FDA-cleared artificial intelligence technology from CureMetrix and is currently available at Intermountain Medical Clinic, an Onsite-affiliated practice. Onsite plans to expand the program to additional markets later this year.
The launch aligns with American Heart Month, highlighting the increasing focus on cardiovascular awareness in women’s health. According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death for women, yet risk is often undetected until later stages. Mammo with heart aims to provide additional insight during a routine exam many women already receive.
By combining CureMetrix’s cmAngio software with Onsite’s comprehensive 3D screening mammography services, the program allows a standard mammogram to deliver broader health information. Onsite says this approach enables a “two-for-one” exam without requiring additional procedures, appointments, or radiation exposure.
“We’re thrilled to partner with CureMetrix to explore new ways AI can expand the value of traditional mammography, revealing important insights that may have gone unnoticed in the past,” said Jillian Wright, chief executive officer at Onsite Women’s Health. “We believe it’s our responsibility to extract the fullest potential from every mammogram—not only to detect cancer, but to surface broader insights into women’s health, including cardiovascular risk.”
BAC is present in approximately 12% to 42.5% of screening mammograms, yet fewer than 5% of these incidental findings are typically reported. Research also indicates that both patients and referring physicians increasingly want to be informed when BAC is identified.
Onsite Women’s Health provides breast health and imaging services across more than 175 practices in 28 states and projects it will perform more than 600,000 breast exams in 2026. The addition of Mammo with heart supports Onsite’s broader goal of improving early detection, patient compliance, and women’s health outcomes nationwide.
