2026 National Proton Conference to Highlight Key Advances and Access Initiatives
The National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT) will host the 2026 National Proton Conference (NPC) from March 18-21 in Nashville. This annual event is set to address significant clinical advancements and operational strategies within proton therapy, following recent positive trial outcomes demonstrating the survival benefits of this treatment for various cancers.
The three-day conference will emphasize emerging clinical research, enhancing patient quality of life, optimizing operational practices, strengthening payer relations, and expanding patient access to this critical cancer therapy. It aims to unite leading experts in proton therapy, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to facilitate a collaborative effort towards improving access to care.
Jennifer Maggiore, NAPT's Executive Director, emphasized the growing reach of proton therapy and the increasing number of centers enabling broader patient access. "The 2026 National Proton Conference will center on improving access to care and fostering collaboration to make this treatment available to those most in need," she stated.
Notably, the conference will feature over 70 speakers from cancer centers across the U.S., sharing their expertise and insights on the latest practices and innovations in proton therapy. In addition, Grammy-winning artist Amy Grant and Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton will participate in the event, with Grant accepting an award on behalf of her late father, Dr. Burton Grant, and Hamilton delivering the closing remarks.
The conference program's final day includes a special session with PTCOG-NA, a Dosimetry Workshop, and a tour of the Tennessee Oncology Proton Center, the event's host site. The NPC's exhibition hall will showcase industry partners and technology providers, with Industry Expert Theaters presented by organizations like Mevion, IBA, and Apollo Healthcare Partners.
