2025 ASTRO Fellowship Awarded to 43 Leaders in Radiation Oncology

Published Date: July 10, 2025

The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has selected 43 members to receive the ASTRO Fellow (FASTRO) designation in 2025. This prestigious honor recognizes individuals for their exceptional contributions to ASTRO, as well as to cancer research, education, patient care, and the field of radiation oncology.

The new Fellows will be formally recognized during ASTRO’s 67th Annual Meeting, taking place in San Francisco on Tuesday, September 30.

This year’s honorees include physicians, physicists, and cancer biologists whose work has advanced the vital role of radiation therapy in cancer treatment. Since the program began in 2006, only 541 of ASTRO’s 10,000 members worldwide have received the FASTRO designation.

Howard M. Sandler, MD, FASTRO, Chair of the ASTRO Board of Directors, commented, “These distinguished leaders embody ASTRO’s core principles of excellence, innovation, and unwavering dedication to improving patients’ lives through radiation oncology. On behalf of ASTRO, we celebrate their elevation to FASTRO status and their meaningful contributions to cancer care.”
